Julie Cheyney first learned to milk cows when she was 16 years old, leading to a great fascination with milk and what you can make from it. In 2012, she opened the Whitewood Dairy in Hampshire but has since moved to the Waveney Valley in North East Suffolk.
Her decision to move was based on wanting to improve the flavour of the cheese. Her cheese is now made using milk from a herd of French Montbeliarde bred cows which graze on pastures with high levels of grass diversity, the combination of which gives her amazing St Cera it’s unique flavour. Julie’s other cheese, the St Jude, has won the James Aldridge Trophy for the Best British Raw Milk Cheese.
