Furleigh Rosé Brut
Made by Furleigh Estate
WHY IT'S CRAVED
Fresh strawberry and raspberry notes, creamy bubbles, and an adorable soft pink colour makes this a winner for us. Produced by husband and wife Rebecca and Ian following the méthode traditionnelle, this wine comes from the four fields of their family farm in the Dorset countryside.
Despite the fact that English wine has only recently experienced a revival, some of the first documented evidence of sparkling wine comes from this side of the channel. In 1662 Dr Christopher Matter presented a paper to the Royal Society, in which he describes the addition of sugar to stimulate the production of bubbles in wine. Only decades later, French monk Dom Perignon introduced of sparkling wine to Champagne.
